Lot'sa different make and models on the web.
Look like a PS system is primarily just the motor ....and the rest such as cart, or design of it to hold a wand and hose, etc .

I'm looking for one for home use. Don't mind gas models. I saw a cam spray 3K PSI with a Honda GX engine.

Another unit with GX engine and Comet Pump with a SS frame was another unit I saw.

What should I BE looking for in a PS system.
Links to good sites to buy, etc is welcome as well.

Mine looks exactly like Merkava's pic: Be washer with Honda GX 135 + comet compressor unit.

Been serving me and my community well over the pat 8+yrs (I rent it out to my neighbors and colleagues for summer weekends)

I dont know anything about the pumps, but I have a devilbiss with the honda gcv premium residential use motor that I am very pleased with. Some of the cheaper washers with honda motors use the gc series. We had one at work that kept hanging intake valve until we used semi sythetic in it.I am very pleased with my unit, great cost and honda reliability, but I dont know anyhting about the pump, other than its 4 years old and still works.Whatever you get,use the winterizer spray when you put it up.

The GC and the GCV are built exactly the same, the "V" in GCV stands for "vertical".

Look around at tool rental businesses to see what the reliable pressure washers are. Chances are good you will see Honda GX engines mated to a Cat pump. Google "pressure washers" and go from there, lots and lots of info out there.

For home use, I don't have problems with an axial pump, although a cam/crankshaft type triplex would be my choice if I could get one for a reasonable price. Pressure washer engines run fully loaded at wide open throttle during use, an engine with an iron sleeve is a good idea for longevity. Honda, Robin and Briggs (Vanguard and some IC series) supply some quality engines. Comet and AR make decent brass bodied axial pumps. Some of the cheaper units, especially on vertical setups, use cheap aluminum Faip or no name units that tend to get sloppy and wear faster.

i have, or should i say had a devilbiss washer with the honda gc motor. i used that thing alot and burned through 3 pumps before i finally quit on the whole rig. the motor must have a thousand hours on it by now. still running on the original sparkplug. rebuilt the carb twice, rusted through 2 mufflers, but the core motor, man it ran great. the valves were adjusted once and found to be within spec so i never even touched them.

the devilbiss pump sucks though. its very finicky and tends to lock one or more of the plungers resulting in zebra striping. ive tried rebuilding it with the kit devilbiss sells, it doesnt help. the internals of the pump (the springs) eventually snap. must be low quality steel.
id love to find a replacment pump, maybe a cat or something to fit the engine but i finally decided to pull the pump off and replace it with a 3 phase motor that i turned into a single phase generator.
now this old hondas got new duty as a 1890rpm generator motor.
