Just curious, but is anyone here using NEXGEN MAXLIFE in 5w30 or 10w30 and what do you think of it? Went to the AUTOZONE this morning after breakfast with work friend and the girlfriend. The pretty delivery woman and parts person (who is my neighbor gave me a work discount since my work buys so much stuff from AUTOZONE. I picked up a 5.1 qt jug of this NEXGEN MAXLIFE in 5w30 for my Corolla that says to use 5w30.

thanks in advance guys as I havent used this but the VOA I see in the VOA section looks decent/ok to use in my opinion.

Yeah only place around me that carries it is AUTOZONE or 5 min from me.

It seems that only AUTOZONES carry it and they dont even have it in 5w20 grade at all, which made me wonder. I havent seen maxlife nexgen at advance auto at all.

Hey and thanks for that link to the UOA, and ya think I could run it in my Corolla for 2000-3500 miles and drain it out? I am using wix filters in my Civic, Corolla and the Girlfriends Civic HX

thanks in advance Merkava

Looks like it did better than the Synpower. Why such a quick dismissing of that lube from one engine that shows a little higher wear than other engines?

I have used the Maxlife Nextgen and I think it is every bit as good as the regular Maxlife. I also used a quart in my riding mower that had a slight leak and it does not leak now. I think it is a good oil.

Because of all the choices of oil out there, I'd rather have an oil that keeps the wear numbers below 10.

Thanks guys, and Merkava, does that GM 3800 engine have the intake manifold gasket prob's? Just curious as I know that the 3.1 v-6 like my old 98' grand am did. Not up to date much on all GM stuff, so bear with me. Yeah, I am goin to give it a 3500 mile OCI in the Corolla myself as it has more miles than my 03' civic. I think I could use it in the Corolla; we'll see. I got the 5.1 qt jug of it today for $13.55 with my work discount, and I didnt take a fram ocod filter.

thanks guys for the info and advice

Yes it has intake manifold problems, but since then, aftermarket companies have come out with
steel reinforced lower intake manifold gaskets and a much improved upper intake manifold.

That's weird that Autozone is the only one that has it around your area. Around mine, everyone carrys both flavors of Nexgen oils. Walmart, Autozone, Napa, O'Reilly's & Ect.

I'am running 6qts of 10W30 Maxlife Nexgen right now in my Jeep 4.0. It's stoped the seepage from the rear main. Over all I think it's a decent oil.

I went to the NAPA Friday to take some parts to their machine shop. All they had for oil was VWB, Valvoline durablend, valvoline synpower, and their NAPA Synthetic in 5w30 but NO napa synthetic in 5w20. Advance in my area only has VWB and Valvoline NEXGEN regular.

go figure,

Meijer stocks Maxlife Nexgen here, as does Walmart.
As good as any other oil meeting the same specs.
I'd use it without hesitation, if you think you need Maxlife.

That is 1 UOA from 1 car, right?! -You're ready to drop bombs on it.

Please...

I am currently using it in a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country Touring with the 3.8L that has right at 106K miles on it. However, I'm running it in 5W-20.

The van has ran fine on quite a few oils, but it used about half a quart over 5K miles. Nothing serious at all. On the run prior to the current, I switched to Quakerstate HM 5W-20 and it didn't use any. This run I am using NextGen 5W-20 and I've seen no oil loss from it either.

I can't really say anything except that the motor runs fine and it isn't using any oil. I have no UOA's.

I purchase my NextGen MaxLife from Walmart.com with a free shipping code. Comes right to the door for cheaper than you can buy it in the store.

Heck, since I cant find it in 5W20 I may get the itch to try some of the NEXGEN MAXLIFE 5w30 instead of 5w20. No one around here has it in 5w20 at all.

i drained maxlife nextgen a few days ago on my integra and noticed ZERO debris on my magnetic drain plug. normally there is a little. i was very surprised. the engine was quiet and smooth with it too.

Thanks for the reply garlicbreadman, and yeah I may try it next oil change.
