My mother had it over 10 years ago and the recovery is a little tough from what I remember and for the most part it helps but it is certainly no guarantee against future infections.

Just had it done in January,no real pain or discomfort. I ,guess the splint's took a little getting use too. They are only in for ten days. After that you will be able to breathe normally. If you can get hold of a "Neilmed sinus rinse" and some saline wash it will make feel much better. The [censored] that comes out of a person's nose is unbelievable. Good luck,, hammer

Years ago a friend had those same symptoms. He had his adenoids removed, problem was solved.

Hate2work, now that you mention it, the doc with the bad medicine was always commenting on my tonsils/throat, saying it was weak. We will see what the doc says.

Also consult a dentist or endodontist. My dentist thought he saw something in the xray. Sent me to an Endodonist. He's working on a cyst on my root and all of a sudden says, "hello. What's this?". He finds an abscess that's right up against my sinus. He's tapping the thing and said basically that there was no drug therapy that would have stopped issues without that being surgically dealt with.

Really, there was not alot of pain afterward. They med you up pretty good. It all depends on what the doc has to do when he gets up your snout. I had polyps in my sinuses and had to have some stump-grinding done to the bone/cartiledge. They packed my head full of gauze and splints for two weeks. Actually, the worst part of the whole thing was having the gauze and splints removed. I just about passed out. Still,as sick as I stayed all the time before the operation,I do it again in second.

If there's calcified cartilage that needs breaking up/cutting, that's not all so bad. That's not sinus surgery, but might be a "while we're there" type thing. I had my nose broken @ 15 and never had much done with it. Being a mouth breather was a literal thing. A few taps and an insertion sensation ...crunch-crunch-crunch. Packing was removed before I left. Mustache gauze under nose. Clots for a few days ...

My nasal issues are neurological from head traumas.

My left sinus always gives me problems . I get constant sinus infections . I have had 2 operations one in 89 and one in 93 . the first time they poked a hole into the sinus and cleaned out the insides and pulled off the mushrooms growung inside. "polups" The second operation they went in between my lips and gums above the eye tooth and opened up the passages. I still get constant infections but the head aches are about an eighth as bad. Both recoperations were really easy and no real pain. I may be on the way to another one where they fix my nose. Which I wanted done the first operation and called the surgeon a lazyass Kaiser doctor .Kaiser doctors hate it when some one knows they are lazyass doctors

New development today. Orange juice pulp mucus out of the lungs. Not just in color, but stringiness too. Yay disease!
