Just don't buy callable CD's. It's easy enough to do.

It depends. If it pays enough, then why not? Just know what you are getting into. I just never had it happen, nothing scary. Fine to get over 5.5% in 8 months.

Sure, but I've never found the rates to be higher.
I'd say the same thing about a preferred stock.
