OT, to answer the OT comment. Generally I first drive to the best diy power hand car wash in the area, one of five different locations the owner operates. He uses only the more expensive, less durable boar hair brushes, rather than the cheaper more harsh nylon. He also has a spot free rinse, as part of the cycle which I appreciate. fyi, he raised prices after the new year from $1.25 for 4 mins., to same price for 3:30 mins. Can't blame him though because price had been the same for quite some time. He keeps his places immaculate and is always putting money back into the business with maintanence and upgrades, recently adding a credit card option. But, as it's $5 minimum I haven't used it because I can complete my wash for ~$3. I also now know the owner fairly well, and he recently called me his best customer to one of his workers. I appreciate his attention to detail.
Then, when I'm done washing my car I swing by the nearby HF to wonder through the aisles and peruse the products. I might use one of the many coupons I have and have used in the past to get free, led flashlights, scissors, digital multimeters, and screwdriver sets. Used some of those for Christmas gifts, and have kept some. As I don't use my tools professionally, many/most only occasionally, I have purchased a few things for a specific need that I knew I was likely not to need often. One recently was item #96927 Sliding "T" Driver Set, "1/2, 3/8" ,1/4" drive. Used it to remove a stubborn Honda 3.0L transmission upper fill hole bolt to do a Z-1 drain and fill. It worked great to free the stuck bolt, for and I now "1/2" extention, tbar and two adaptors.
fwiw, I have purchased no "power" tools at HF. But, I did recently buy an inexpensive/on clearance 14.4V Black and Decker drill at Target, which says "tool made in China at the Black and Decker manufacturing facility". Black and Decker and Target, American companies, hmmm should I avoid them too? In any case, to answer the question
that's how I shop at HF, and hope the answer was at least as substantive to help the OP answer his topic question as the quoted comment/question.
To the OP's topic question, I don't shop/buy enough at HF to make it worthwhile to become a member. I would think, unless you shop/buy a lot from HF, it wouldn't be worth it. Does say though, if you're not satisfied after 90 days contact them for a full refund. Your call.
