Anybodies Father in Italy during WWII?

My grandfather was involved in chemical artillery, and I bet there weren't a lot of nurses there, at least until the aftermath.

My father was too young for that war.

My uncle fought in the 442nd in WWII but unfortunately he never did want to talk about the experience.

About all he told me about his service was that the forest in France at night was a scary place. He also told me he came out of it without a scratch. His theory was that he was too small of a target.
