I'm considering this gun as a CCW pistol. If I like it, I might buy my wife one as well. I intended for us, together, to use the CZ P-07 I just bought, but that slide is just VERY stiff to rack. I understand the PPS's slide is like butter, and very easy for women shooters to operate. I like that it has no safety and a crisp trigger break. Reviews seem positive. Anything to not like about this gun?

I think there were some quality issues when they were made by S&W, but I don't recall the specifics. There may also be an issue with hammer bite for some shooters. Another alternative for less money would be the Bersa Thunder if you like the style of the PPS.
Shop around and consider all of your options before you buy. Personally, i carry a S&W 642 revolver. Depending on your wife's hand size, that may be a good option for her. Let her choose what she prefers.
In an auto, i am partial to the Kahr K9. Well built, smooth action Double Action Only, very reliable.

Thanks; are you thinking about the PPK? The PPS doesn't have a hammer; it's striker-fired.

I just put 90 rds through mine last night. It had sat for a while (I switched to M&P 380 for now) and I wanted to see how I would do with it. First few shots lint was flying everywhere.
I have the heavy connector and I still enjoy it. Thin, well made and accurate. I put night sights on it which involved a small amount of filing for the front post. The stock sights, IMO, don't work for me. I am way low with them.
I don't mind the Walther mag release. I find it intuitive.
Cons are mag prices and service if you should have an issue. The Walther forums are a great resource for PPS owners.

I love my PPS 40cal. It is my preferred CC. Single stack with lots of power. Too much recoil for some, I bought this from a woman that fired one round thru it.... I carried glocks on duty and came to dig the 40 cartridge, now in a smaller quality safe manageable package, plus it's a handsome pistol...
