You can do plenty of internet research before ever entering a dealership to determine what a reasonable price is.
Now, I am not going to spend an entire Saturday beating the last buck fifty (I mean $150.00, not $1500.00) out of a 22-25K purchase that I will likely have for ten years or more.
WRT used cars, I have bought cars from small independents (like our '97 Accord) that were honestly priced and represented, and I felt like I got a lot less song and dance than I might have gotten from a private party.
