Looks like I may have to replace my well pump. I’ll be looking at 1HP 240V, 2-wire models from reputable manufacturers. Does anyone have any recent quotes for this type of job?

Doesn't depth come into play? In my locale you're a at least a couple hundred feet just to get less than 1 gpm, but going deeper doesn't get any better

My friend just had his done for $1800. IDK what depth it was at but when I lived near him mine was 190 ft. down IIRC.
I didn't think $1800 was too steep being that everything in NY is expensive.

Thanks guys. Got a quote of $2000 including a Franklin pump. Depth and horsepower estimate was way off. The old one was a 1/2 HP Franklin from 1997 and a similar unit is going in.

The pumps are nearly double in price from say 10 years ago. The installation depends on how deep your well is. I spent about $1800 for a 250 ft deep .

Yes I used Rick Gibson. He came same day as we were out of water, as he has done in the past. Surprised you know Gibson, a local pump guy in Floyd.
I have been to Floyd quite a few times. My son has a farm there. Being involved with well pumps as a livelihood I notice all the pump people.

The reason I asked about service was that three years ago my son built a new home. There was an existing well on his property. He needed a well yield done to see if the well was a producer. No one in the business was interested in doing the job. He repeatedly tried everybody. To get it done I drove down from northern Maryland and did the procedure myself. It was an excellent clean and clear producer.

I have considered retiring to the area. So nice there.
