Any reason not to use synthetic Valoline or Mobil LS one gear oil?

For an FJ Cruiser front and rear diffs vs the Toyota brand gear oil that's like $35 a quart. It has the track lock or what ever Toyota calls it.

for the front its fine, for the back you need to know what type of differential it has..
generically some require a friction modifier and some dont (sealed limited slip or locker)

I am not familiar with all the type that have been used in a FJ cruiser.

You could also use a gear oil that says its ok for limited slip type usage.

such as mobil 1.. there are no negative effects in a differential(if you dont have a limited slip)

would work no matter what kind of differential you have.

Edit: just noticed your full title, yes Mobil 1 LS will work fine in both.

The M1 gear oil is around $13-$15/qt.

The FJ uses an electronically operated locker in the rear.So no clutch plates or additives needed I have been using Delo Synthetic from A-Zone because its only $7/qt.

If you M1 gear from your local dealer by the box, it is a bit cheaper.

I checked their website and for the Delco they had this message, "This item cannot be shipped to any US State, US Territory or US Military address." Wonder what's up with that

Probably a non-compete licensing/marketing agreement with the OEM.

Delco or Delo? Delo can be had for very low price from a local distributor, if you go by the box. Delo syn line is of very good quality. Delco is a different brand. Can be good as well, depends on the product.

Delo or M1 in my front differentials … and Delvac 1 in both of my G80's …
