Many of us have stories in our minds.
Putting them into a written form that someone will want to actually publish since others might want to read it is another matter.
Take a writing course and discover just how difficult it is to put what seems like a good story into words.
I have and while I thought I could write I learned otherwise.
Hemingway was not an accountant and I'm not a writer.

See if you can find a real-world, or online, writers' group that you can join. I've belonged to one here for nine years, and they have improved my writing quite a bit. I have to show/tell what's important and do my research, or they'll call me on it. "Your lead character printed out pages from websites to show her boss? In 2012? Come on! She'd bookmark 'em on her tablet." I take their advice more often than not.
