I want to use Amalie Universal Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid in 99 Camry Power Steering system. I had purchased Power Steering fluid from local Federeated car parts store but reading some internet material, I came to conclusion that I would be better off using ATF as that is what is listed on the PS reservoir cap. People of have suggested synthetic ATF (actually Mobil-1 ATF) but this is what the store carries.

Universal Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid

Amalie Universal Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid is a full synthetic automatic transmission fluid and is now reformulated with even more universal applications in modern traditional Automatic Transmissions. It is by far the most dynamic member of Amalie’s family of high performance automatic transmission fluids. It is the latest iteration of the fluid that changed the ATF market – the one premium ATF that became known for its rugged dependability, and as the inventory optimizer. With the exception of CVT fluids and Duel Clutch Fluids (DCT), the new Amalie Universal Synthetic ATF will come with broader and more universal coverage for the more traditional planetarygear transmissions. By separating out the CVT application, Amalie is able to endorse performance applications for many more European, Korean, Japanese and U. S. heavy-duty transmission applications than ever before – not just the newer and more demanding transmissions, we are now able to recommend Amalie Oil Company’s Universal Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid for all conventional automatic transmissions – old and new. It is a special blend of synthetic base oils coupled with a multi-functional additive system and advanced friction modifiers to provide unsurpassed protection and reliable performance for all types of automatic transmissions, power steering units and hydraulic systems manufactured by virtually all of the automotive and transmission manufactures from around the world – the one fluid that replaces the confusion about which fluid to use in a multitude of automatic transmissions. Amalie Universal Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid is such a superior transmission fluid that it may be used wherever established fluids are required or specified by all OEMs around the world including but not limited to General Motors approved Dexron® fluids including Dexron® VI and GM T-IV; Ford Motor Company's Mercon® approved fluids including Mercon® V, Mercon® SP and Mercon® ; Honda ATF-Z1, VTM-4, DW-1, DPF, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi Diamond SP

Right from their website:

"Now, Razin Kane is out there showing off for his fans and helping prove that Amalie oils are just as tough as JR’s truck—is there a better way to prove durability than drag racing and monster truck charging, snorting and jamming?"

And what is a "duel" clutch fluid?

i used the universal synthetic automatic transmission fluid in my 2001 rx300 with excellent results. have not tried it in my 05 330 yet.

I used to sell Amalie( well it was sold where I worked - not something I ever purposely sold to people )and it was mediocre stuff at best. I always steered folks to the better products we carried. About the only thing our regular customers really seemed to like was the bulk gear oil. That had a loyal following with the tractor trailer guys. It has been a while since I sold it though, to be fair, so maybe they have improved their products? Amalie products in general are not something I would use unless no other option was available to me. FWIW.

I put Amalie CVT fluid in Mom's VUE (like $4.29/qt as an Amazon add-on). It hasn't blown up yet. It'll be coming out in 30,000 so we'll see how it's held up with a UOA.

If it meets the certs you need, use it with confidence.

Amalie is real proud of their products (just ask them),but they also own and make Wolfs Head, and its marginal at best.

Fluid for use in Duel Clutch Transmissions (DCT). May or may not be the same as 'normal' transmissions. That's why the fluid world is becoming more complicated and harder for both customers and technicians to understand. For example:
Dry DCT
Wet DCT
CVT, chain and belt
Toroidal
Various MT designs and materials
All of which pretty much really require different fluids.
There have now been a number of published articles, papers and presentations from various people at venues such as SAE and CTI illustrating that the concept of a truly 'universal' fluid is no more than a marketing myth.

I've used it in two ATs so far. It's a decent fluid, but by no means is it top of the line stuff.

I felt confident using it in apps that call for Mercon and a synthetic Dex III fluid, those vehicles being a Ford Escape and an Audi A6 respectively.

The first version they sold also claimed that it worked for CVT transmissions, which I thought was total bunk. The newer version doesn't make that claim.

For a power steering system, it should work just fine. Heck, just changing the fluid once over the life of the vehicle is more than most owners do.

I have never used the ATF, but what is wrong with Wolf's Head? I used their HDEO in my Citroen with positive results.
