Have about 6k miles on my current oil change but with all my credits I’m sitting on about $400 at FCPEuro (been running Molygen in my Grenadier and using it in my Yamaha SHO outboard). Any real issues with me running something like that in an older machine? Is soot contaminant that much an issue? I did tune it and run about 60-80hp more. Currently it’s on Amsoil but UOA of Molygen has always looked pretty stout.

What grade, 5w-40? It’s recommended for a couple specs that cover diesels, so you’d probably be fine.

For the Grenadier, why not use Top Tec 6600? It has the BMW approval your engine calls for, fwiw.

Oddly some of their Molygen is marketed for diesels. However everything on their websites appears to be down right now. I did see FCP actually added a new diesel oil

So looks like all is well.

The above 15w40 looks great. I would have no problems running that in the trucks I had that ran HOTSHOT

It's low saps but still 1.0g ash. Hths 3.5, kind of low for a big diesel 15w40.

HTHS is a minimum of 3.5. Duramax's seem to not really care about oil. I've been running AMSOIL Signature Series and since this cost me $4 figured why not.
