Any idea who makes "MotoTech" oil?

A local chain (Fred Meyer) is running a BoGo on this mystery oil, limit of 6 free quarts. It comes in a nondescript black container, no sourcing info as far as I can see, it has no starburst symbol and comes in most flavors (30w, 5-30, 10-30, 10-40 & 20-50). From what I gather, the brand name "MotoTech" is owned by Kroger, which merged w/Fred Meyer some time ago. Normally I wouldn't buy something like this, but I have this leftover gift card from last X-Mas w/like $20 on it and a beater van that gets an oil change every three months. Alas, it's piqued my interest...especially since my $.49 Chevron Supreme has been depleted. So does anyone know anything about this "MotoTech" oil?

BTW: I did a Google/Bitog search on it and it seems like somebody asked the same thing back in '03; unfortunately, they had no luck either.

I looked at that oil just a couple of days ago. Bottom of the bottle says WPI, so I think is bottled by Warren, same as Wal-Mart Supertech. It was SM/GF-4 approved so it should be OK.

I have been buying it for a while now using it in my Oldsmobile. I get it from Kroger and on all the botttles I have ever bought, if you look on the bottom it says WPP in the plastic. Which I believe is Warren Performance Products, makers of MAG 1 and some supertech and ACCEL oils. Not bad stuff. I have had no negitive effects from it so use away. Hope I was able to answer your question.
