Any idea what you spend a month on gas?

I spend about $350 to $400 a month on gas up here. It'll be higher now, since our prices have gone up 20 cents a liter in the past month.

I have to do some math since my Treo is in the middle of a firmware upgrade.

1994 Geo Prizm. Total operating costs are $0.134/mile as of today. I drive it about 2200 mi/month and have averaged 31.8MPG.

Fuel was 2.499 today, so at today's prices I'm spending about $173/mo on that vehicle.

I've had my Scion tC since 12/31/05 and did it's first oil change today at 3926 miles. (No, I didn't get a sample for a UOA, but I did use a Wix filter and Mobil1 5W30 for those interested.)

So I'm averaging about 1300 miles/month on that car. It looks like my average MPG is say 27, so my costs for that are $121/mo

So my total is just under $300/month. I'm glad I get a $450/month car allowance, LOL

Even when the price goes up, I don't change my driving habits, I'll still go out on the weekends sometimes for a nice hour long drive just to have fun! I'm not going to let the oil companies take away my driving fun! It sucks to pay more, but it would suck even more not to be out there enjoying my car the way it's meant to be enjoyed! (that's why I don't understand why so many Corvette owners will only drive their car a couple of thousand miles a year, what fun is that??)

We're in the same boat. We have 3 grand kids 330 miles away. We try to get there every 2 months or so. If it weren't for that I'd probably turn in my license and never drive. I hate driving.

I do enjoy putting maybe 7 or 7 hundred miles per year on my MC. Fortunately it gets 75 mpg.

Maybe you don't have to deal with the idiot drivers in Utah that drive around the rest of this continent?

I pay about $150-200/month on gas, which has been the case since katrina. I commute 70 miles a day, and travel about 250 miles on the weekends.

Luckily the saab gets great MPG... Taking the truck makes me spend a bit more. Ive been lucky because the E30 318i has been averaging about 31 MPG regularly lately. Im not sure while its running so well, but its consistent and I like it!

I really wouldnt have guessed that... the odessey is rated 28 or so on highway, and gets at least 20 in the city per EPA... I cant imagine that the volvo is that much better... my friend is very proud of his 240 wagon, but he has a hard time hitting 28, with less engine.

~$125CDN/month (taken over the last 6 months) for 2 cars: Honda and Volvo. Honda is travelling ~9k/yr and Volvo 5.5K/yr. $125/month is inaccurate (too low) because occasionally the Honda is lent and paid back by gas in tank.

Next house/job I want to get back to commuting by bicycle and back to a one car household.

I drive very little. I live close to work. Even though I drive an old 91 Marquis, my gas bill is still cheaper than the insurance bill.

The Odyssey has not seen the hwy. We get maybe 19 on the best tanks. Check again, I don't think an EX is rated 20 in the city. 3.5L six, w/o the 3 cylinder cut-out. I think it's like 16-17 city and 23-24 hwy.

The Volvo get 24-25 city and over 28 hwy - however it does get lousy MPG just putting down to the park and ride. It's an 850 - much better engine management than any 240.

PS - your PM box is full.
