This is my second Purolator oil filter that I ever bought in 30+ years and only after good reviews here at BITOG.
Here's the 1st filter I cut open a few month ago.

This 2nd filter is from a 2006 Lexus RX330 that's been in the garage for the last 7 months. This is what it look like with only 483 miles. Yes you read it correctly, Four hundred eighty three 80% highway miles. Nice way to go Purolator!

Am I upset with Purolator? Absolutely NOT. It was my decision to purchase these filter.
Will I recommend others or continue to use Purolator oil filter? - What do you think?

What a piece of junk. So how many posts before some comes on here and says no big deal? These filters might a well come from the factory with tears. I think they have earned their nickname!

Same recurring formula: Large pleat spacing + large V-spread + weak media = torn media.

With 483 miles on the filter, it's apparent that the tearing occurs not long after the filter is put into use.

Here's a fresh pic of the oil.

The one next to the dip stick is new from a open bottle.

I have a few Purolators still on my shelf, and I am not sure what is my best plan of action. I am leaning toward sending them to the Purolator headquarters postage due.....But I doubt they would accept them.

I sure as he!! am not going to put them on any vehicle that I own....
