This one was on my 02 Civic for 5,000 miles. 6 months, during Oregon's winter. Driving consist of 20+ miles highway to idle for 5-10 mintues and short trips. I replaced the filter with a Fram Extended Guard.

Looks Good to me, thanks for the Pics!

Hope the Fram will serve you well too.

I know I could. Most of the time I change it 5,000/6 months.

It's has in the past. I'm more impress with the Fram than the P1.

What's the price difference between the two filters?

$6 regular price for the P1 at our local Bi-Mart or K-Mart. $9 ish at Wal-Mart normal price for the Fram. I got a bunch of Fram when it was on sale.

Looks good, the 14610 has lots of media for it's size. P1 regular price ~$6, but with very little effort can be had for ~$3-$5 max at AAP. XG is a good filter too, but I wouldn't spend $9 for an XG for 5k OCI. Just me.

Thanks for the pics.

The nearest AAP is probably 1,000+ miles away. I can't find P1 14610 for under $5 around where I live, that's even with a sale. I wouldn't pay $9 for a XG also. I got a bunch of them when they had a rebate from Fram.

Yes, but like I said, even the sale price there is still $5

Sorry, didn't see that. Lame, my K-Mart has them just under $5 before tax. I live in metro-Atlanta.

+1.....At a 5000 OCI...the P1 is all the filter you need. Just look how great it is

With Bi-Mart price of $5.79, ond on sale for $1 off (now $4.79).....and a $2 Purolator Rebate (coming up soon.....you can get P1's for under $3.00.

The only way I would spend $9 for an XG.....is if my OCI's would be near 10,000 miles. That would make sense.

True. Hardly looks used even at 5k. As pointed out, looks like it could easily have done 7.5k, no problemo.

As for P1 cost, a great majority of the US can get them for the $3-5 cost mentioned. Amazon also frequently has them for $5 with free shipping for a $25 order. Kmart ~$5 on sale.

But, based on the comments here the OP clearly prefers the XG, which is fine. Also for his complete satisfaction, likely what he should use in the future. That said, doesn't diminish how good the posted P1 looks, and the overall value for construction/efficiency of the filter.

fwiw, getting ready to pull a P1 with ~7k/9month OCI, 10-15% Honda MM. Will post pics.
