Here's a 3 month 3000 mile filter off my coworkers 2010 Chrysler T&C 3.3 V6. The filter looks great, the oil is black as sin for the mileage, and this was the 16,000 mile jobber filter abuse engine I posted about last May. I did the oil pan gasket and pickup screen O ring, along with a new radiator, water pump, upper and lower radiator hoses, thermostat, serpentine belt and the idler and tensioner pulleys. The engine was a lot cleaner inside than we thought it was going to be. There's definitely still a lot of sludge or something coming out of the oil galleys and lifters because the oil is abnormally dark and dirty in the filter can itself. Shell Rotella T4 15W40 was used and the same filter and oil went back in for this time around. I'd say for a 160,000 mile engine that was neglected most of its life it looks pretty good inside. Timing chain is a bit sloppy, but it runs great anyways. Since I've started taking care of the van oil consumption has been greatly reduced to the point it only used about 1 quart in 3000 miles of mixed driving and mostly city.
