ANOTHER new (to me) car

Yeah I probably need more help being this is car #9 and I’m barely in my 30’s. But I don’t want the help, as life is too short to drive boring cars.

Enter the Challenger I’ve been wanting since they originally announced them way back when! I don’t have a good picture of it yet, been driving it. 2014, 160k, 5.7 v8 auto trans, obligatory resonator delete so it doesn’t sound like an asthmatic breathing through a straw. Brother in law gave us a good deal. He took fantastic care of it, even has new tires and all new brakes.

It feels great owning 2 of the vehicles I’ve been drooling over since 2008-2009… my 4th gen Ram being the other.

It is my wife’s “fun” car, I just get to drive it occasionally

I have My Boss' (47 yr anniversary this week) approval to buy one or a Charger that I have been drooling over since they re-emerged a while back.
The problem is , I am now at an age (knocking on 70) that I will not allow myself to do the wrong thing for us at our age
and situation. We both , due to medical conditions need something like an SUV for ease of getting in and out and comfortable riding and chauffeuring grandkids around as opposed to me getting my lead foot kicks like in the past. My 5 year old grandson would flip if I did buy one. He was born with automobile OCD in his blood like me and his dad. I call him Tornado!

You know , the thought crossed my mind. She likely knows me like a book after so many years. So she knew deep down she was not taking a chance telling me "yeah, go get that Charger or Challenger you been wanting!" She knows me, knows driving grandkids around is more special to me than my old hot rod , car worshipping days! Women. They got most of us guys pegged and know some of us better than we know ourselves! So, plan on having a Subaru SUV in the garage instead before year end. I can still admire seeing what everyone else has! Enjoy the one you all have!

I rented one of those for my birthday. R/T manual transmission. Sounded fantastic. Solid black of course.

The interior boxy shape of the glass made me feel like I was in the Batmobile.

Nice car for sure, but impractical for my family at this stage in life.

Wife has been driving 3 of the 4 kids to school in it every day lol, they can't get enough of it! Obviously we can't all fit in it, but that's what the truck and van are for.

Unless you currently own 9 vehicles in your early 30's, you're fine. In my 50's, I'm approaching 20 vehicles in the fleet, and it's practically a full-time job maintaining them. I might need to consider letting some of the fleet go, for my sanity.

Unless you currently own 9 vehicles in your early 30's, you're fine. In my 50's, I'm approaching 20 vehicles in the fleet, and it's practically a full-time job maintaining them. I might need to consider letting some of the fleet go, for my sanity.

Congrats on your new-to-you Challenger.

I had to reduce my very much smaller fleet down. The last of it in 2019. I had to let go of trucks, boats, Honda Civic and even my last Chevelle. All had to go to new homes. So what now? Less maintenance and repairs, just minimal upkeep with only two cars left in garage.
Still it made a bunch of room in garage and especially my back yard shop. Put some extra monies in the bank too.
Stubbornly I put it off a few years. I finally faced reality and accepted the fact. It was too much for me. I was not ready or happy about it. I had to do it for several reasons , including health issues that made it next to impossible for me to do many things I once enjoyed.

I had a 2018 SRT with a 392, I can't think of a car I owned that I liked more.
