Another Honda oil thread

A quick search didn’t come up with anything. Did Honda backdate their oil recommendations for older vehicles like my 2007 Honda Civic Si which called for 5w30 with the SM seal.

You guys are the expert whether a Full Synthetic 0w-20 SN+ which supersede a older recommendation. Thank you.

yes, Honda did back-spec to 0w20. You can use 0w20, 5w20, or 5w30 with no problem.

EDIT: never mind I missed that you have an Si, which was not back-spec'd to 0w20. Sorry for the mistake

No advantages in running a 0w20 or 5w20 not in NJ climate 5w30 is good wear protection and fuel economy
