Anheuser-Busch closing down three breweries

I've been to the one in Fairfield, California on the tour. Also once for a special event. They closed down the tour a few years ago. They're also selling their brewery in New Jersey and closing one in New Hampshire. All employees are being offered relocation to another brewery, although that might be tough if someone already owns a house.

Not surprised they’re selling the Newark brewery, though it was an iconic thing to see when behind the airport. I don’t know anyone who buys their products. And, lots of small breweries have popped up in almost every town, and are very popular.

Not surprising at all. The craft breweries have been dropping like flies around here for a few years. Just don't think as many people drink beer like they did in the old days.

I think drinking is taking its toll. He actually said in an interview: go out, get drunk, meet someone.

No. Sales have been pretty strong with record revenues. They also claim that they've invested over $2 billion in the past 5 years in breweries. Looks more like they're consolidating for economic reasons. They are making more "higher end" beers, so the total volume of beer made might be lower.

I was surprised when Anheuser Busch originally sold out to inbev. Looks like they read the tea leaves well.

We have a very good friend, my wife's best friend, actually, coming to stay with us for a few days before Christmas. It was a little unexpected, but she's always welcome. It shocked my wife when she called and asked what we were doing, but she was excited, as we all were at her coming out.

She has a higher position at that location, and reading this got my mind working overtime. After she called, my wife looked at me and said, "I wonder what brought this on? Hopefully, nothing's wrong."

They are spending another $17m on the Houston brewery - if someone relocated there - likely to find home prices to their liking - but might need to study the beltway system bcs of where the brewery is … (industrial area) …
