Anheuser-Busch closing down three breweries

1. They were popping up like mushrooms after rain. It is a market correction.
2. Never in US history have fewer people drink as % of the population.

Interesting research I heard about in an interview with a psychologist from NYU. 46% of guys 25 and younger said that the thing they are most afraid of is asking a woman on a date.
I think drinking is taking its toll. He actually said in an interview: go out, get drunk, meet someone.

But more people are on Zanax, Valium etc..than ever. Pick your poison... I'll stick to beer.
I agree that 'craft brews' are taking there toll on Bud, Coors,etc...nothing like a nice IPA...they do taste better.

Speaking of beer. A couple of decades ago I met a scientist for Coca-Cola. At the time they had toyed with the idea of offering beer and had performed some research on Budweiser. They're data showed that the product just barely met the definition of beer.

I agree, beer sales down, SSRIs and THC products are through the roof. People found a different way to cope with the bummers of life

Some 7yrs ago I fell skiing, hit head on ice, luckily had helmet on. Go to urgent care, small concussion. But they were checking my back and found suspicious spots on skin.
Long story short, surgery, remuvin some 2x2 part of skin (no cacer luckily). I asked: once anesthesia wears out, how bad it hurts. And doctor is: “ just get Tylenol extra. But I can prescribe you some goodies!” Goodies? I am like: “thanx, I will stick to Tylenol and Glenfiddich 12yrs old.”

I guess pot has quite a few less health risks than alcohol, and here you can grow a fairly huge amount legally, 4 plants, which can yield 1-2 pounds each! So almost anyone can get high year round with a few bucks for seed and fertilizer and a bit of work.

We do have lots of stores here too, which I don't really understand, but I guess its better than having organized crime profiting from it. I'm not really that interested in it anyways, I use it a few times a year, when we have a bunch of friends over and are all sitting around a campfire. But even then, I wouldn't miss it really.

I often stay at the Newark Airport Marriott. I can see the old Brewery across the street. I used to be able to smell the hops and beer being brewed, but it has been shut down for a while. I was wondering when the property would change hands - it’s just been sitting there idle.

IMO, it's the younger generation are just more health oriented. My 2 twenty something nephews don't drink or smoke. One has already gotten Botox injections around his eyes...I was like " WHAT ?!?! " Then I told him " At you're age I was in bars all night, then hit the After Hours till 10am !!!!

Are they way down on beer sales? Colorado has had numerous closures with two more or so happening in December.

AB’s volume has been down for over a decade, but the Dylan Mulvaney fiasco really drove a stake into their chest.

After the In-Bev merger, they lost the focus they had on pro-American values. I know AB employees who regularly saw August Busch in the plants. They’ve never seen ABI C-suites. The writing was on the wall; In-Bev had always done nothing but brutal cost-cutting rather than innovation & listening to their customer base.

Pot had far more benefits than drawbacks.
I always find funny working with former police chiefs or current how they make fun of “potheads,” but when you ask them what is most dangerous call they will always tell you drunken husband or boyfriend.

They are all drinking those carbonated malt flavored beverages. In my youth we drank beer like it was going away soon.
