Amsoil STINKS!! ....in the best way possible
Thanks everyone for such great information and history. I appreciate the education, and now have a much better grasp of what the company and their products are all about. As with many consumers, I equate visibility (advertisements) and sponsorship with quality. I will look deeper. Thanks again!
I didn't like how the CRV sounded with AMSOIL Signature Series 5w20. I do like their other products though.

If you plan to extend your OCIs and use used oil analysis to find out how far you can safely go between drains, then yes, Amsoil is a great choice. If you are going to follow your manufacturers OCI intervals or use the on board OLM, then use whatever grade is recommended and whatever spec the manufacturer recommends ( ie Dexos, API SN, GF-5)

This then led to Mobil introducing Mobil 1 and the trend of synthetic automotive lubricants was set in motion. We can thank Al for that
Since then, they have worked extremely hard at developing long-drain lubricants that deliver exceptional performance, and this, along with their incredibly broad range of products, is what sets them apart from their peers.
Please note that I'm a dealer of their products. I've got their gear oil going in my M5, I have their ATF in its PS reservoir, and I have AZO in my Expedition. I believe in the quality of their products. However, I'm NOT a fan of how some dealers portray their product, the company, or its history (not that this applies to you, I just want to put that out there). The facts about the company, its history and its products can stand on their own
Do you run the tws 10W60 in your M5 i do with mine but id likebtobtry something easier to get and maybe less exoebsive any reccomedations

Look for our resident Amsoil salesman here Pablo. He is the top poster on this site and contact him for Amsoil products. There are some bad dealers out there but Pablo is not one of them.

Nope, being a post 03/00 car, I'm running an LL-01 approved lubricant, which means the car has seen BMW 5w30, Mobil 1 0w-40 and currently Pennzoil Ultra 5w-40.

This is where we are as well. I have been an Amsoil user/distributor for decades, and there was a time when they seemed to have a significant technical advantage.
They still have a product line that is amazing, and it is uniformly high quality.
But these days the difference is less and less between their oils and competitors.
I would definitely argue that today's big names are as good as most of anything Amsoil has. The demand is there so they are now competing for that market and very capable. All of these companies have engineers and chemists with Phd's.
This is where we are as well. I have been an Amsoil user/distributor for decades, and there was a time when they seemed to have a significant technical advantage.
They still have a product line that is amazing, and it is uniformly high quality.
But these days the difference is less and less between their oils and competitors.
