Sure, other oils might make it that long, but some shear down quickly and none retain their TBN as well. Besides - when I started using this oil with extended OCIs over ten years ago it was the only oil on the market that could last that long. I have 317,000 miles on my car, and it still runs like new.

Hi Kuato

Looks like like long drain is working for you. Are you able to provide brief details of the savings made compared to the usual OEM OCIs for your vehicle since you started.

Check with slalom44; he's the one doing the long intervals.

I have been a AMSOIL "dealer" since 2005 when i bought a new ATV and could not find anyone that sold it near me. I started using it in all my cars, ATV, lawnmower etc. did that for quite a few years but to be honest, and i just renewed my dealer status in February for another year, i don't use it is everything now based on i can get a comparable product cheaper now especially when you factor in shipping and tax and i get 10% off Walmart purchases.
I will probably stock up later this year on ATV oil and gear lube and not renew next year. they have very good products and i feel each situation has to be evaluated to determine if using it is worth the cost.

so to answer OP question. . . it depends.

Stop the nonsensical snipe comments, you aren't going to convert anyone. Besides, show me where Amsoil has anything but high quality products. You'd have a better time arguing with their marketing model, or their pricing, or their reluctance to pay for standardization testing. But arguing it is bad quality is pretty much picking the hardest road you could think of.
