Long time Amsoil user since 2004 90% of the time. Amsoil is 14 and some change with preferred pricing. Since HPL is 2.00 more is it worth switching?
Walmart automotive section does many of us well if you really want to step up they do carry Royal Purple.
Royal Purple would definitely be my choice if I chose boutique oil.The API Royal Purple at Walmart is a "step up" from Amsoil?
Royal Purple is not exactly on the level of Amsoil and HPL.Walmart automotive section does many of us well if you really want to step up they do carry Royal Purple.
I’ve read before here that AMSOIL Signature Series would fall between HPL premium plus and premiumAMSOIL Signature Series > HPL based on price and availability
HPL > AMSOIL Signature Series > Royal Purple based on quality.
I think the difference in the premium plus and premium , is the amount of PAO. I'm not sure the ad-pack is that different.I’ve read before here that AMSOIL Signature Series would fall between HPL premium plus and premium
Then again neither am I lolRoyal Purple is not exactly on the level of Amsoil and HPL.
Well that depends imo. OCI of 5K miles? Probably not much. If one is looking to extend intervals to the higher OEM recs or beyond, maybe quite a bit. Not sure what a rebate has to do with extending engine lifeHow many more 10's of thousands of miles engine life will AMSOIL Signature Series, Royal Purple or HPL going to give you over say Quaker State or Mobil 1 on sale with a rebate?
Yes, I believe base oil composition along with VII type are the differencesI think the difference in the premium plus and premium , is the amount of PAO. I'm not sure the ad-pack is that different.
@High Performance Lubricants may can explain.
Makes the oil cheaper try to find much of a sale or rebate on AMSOIL Signature Series, Royal Purple or HPLWell that depends imo. OCI of 5K miles? Probably not much. Honestly, Royal Purple, as it is now formulated, under new management, is a step down from AMSOIL. It may be your choice, but it isn’t what it used to be. It’s made more cheaply, isn’t designed for extended drain, and has little to recommend it ahead of something like Mobil 1. Save your money.Royal Purple would definitely be my choice if I chose boutique oil.
