Amsoil Synthetic Blend Engine Oils

I didn't say that. Preferred price is $24 for the gallon too. No one should be buying much Amsoil without the preferred pricing.
$24 per gallon is still more expensive than ESP. What's the appeal in getting a lower performing product?

Well it depends on the application. The synthetic blend may very well be completely sufficient for some. I don't run it so I can't speak for those who do. Perhaps they have an engine that's easy on oil, they like supporting an American company, and it will be completely sufficient for their needs. I think it's an interesting product. It has some ester content which is probably unique among synthetic blends, and they have a 0W-20 which I think is also unique.

Overall it seems like this is geared towards shops that want to go full Amsoil, and now they have a lower price point product they can use for bulk oil fills while being able to go completely Amsoil for their product lines.

I don't get the point of an inherently "lesser" product from a brand that has been priding themselves for years as being a cut above. If you're going to run a blend, why not just grab Pennzoil conventional or similar?

Good point. Primarily because I typically use Amsoil products (as I am a dealer), and ordering the blend at the same time is convenient. I use the 0w-30 Euro oil in my wife's car, lots of grease (which I like the Amsoil greases and get either NGLI #1 or #2 whenever I want), lots of diesel additives, and a fair amount of transmission fluid, gear oil and the like. With 5 vehicles to maintain, tractors, and an excavator I go through a lot of oil products. Not everything sees the top tier oils. Most use a decent oil and get changed yearly, with hours/miles not even close to the factory OCI.

My pick-up is the only rig that I do multiple changes on per year sooner that the factory OCI because it sees significant short trips. So a great oil really isn't needed, its going to get fouled up just as quick as a lesser oil. So I like to try different oils. My cost was something like $4.79 a quart, so its nearly Supertech pricing.

Did someone say "prestige"? Haha! I'll have my monocle engraved with that!

How much more of discount do you get off preferred pricing as a dealer? Is that cost per quart on the blend? In the quart bottles, it's 6.19. Even the gallon jug is 24.09 so 6.02 a quart. Pretty good deal.

I just looked it up. The price is higher than I thought and very close to the PC cost. I had it wrong. Cost per quart is $5.80 and a bit cheaper by the case. I don't know why I thought is was closer to ST pricing. Either way, not bad and worth a try anyway.

It has a shockingly high oxidation value, very nice add pack, and something else shocking you'll have to watch the video for. I know this thread is old but I thought id share this on here. Next video will be a used oil analysis by bft and lake as well.

@Pablo if youre interested in both of these videos

I linked the first video on the prior page. I had déjà vu.

This guy is a character. Interesting comments on Mobil 1….

LSJ said he was going to AMSOIL in November last year. I wonder when that video will drop.

I won’t be able to watch these until Friday but thanks for posting!
All good. Merry Christmas. Ill more than likely test it out myself in a couple vehicles. Im curious about it and id like to provide more data for people interested.

I havent kept up with bitog lately. From what I've seen id personally run this over mobil 1 in 5k oc intervals. Hes been to their labs and testing before. Im not sure if hes visited again.

Which aspect of it do you think is better than Mobil 1? Why do you think it would outperform a synthetic oil?
It has an addictive package very similar to the signature series, in the uoa it performed excellent even with cross contamination and didnt shear down out of grade which ive seen off the shelf synthetics do that including mobil 1, has an oxidation value of 33.2 so it has esters, even tho its over 50% synthetic being a high quality blend. Being a synthetic blend it'll perform great through the stribeck curve. Now i will say mobil 1 does have 3 great off the shelf oils out there. Esp, truck and suv, and extended performance. I would have to see data comparisons in different aspects to make a conclusive decision but in a 5k mile oci this synthetic blend does look to be phenomenal. I trust amsoils formulation of the oil and using soybean oil with its benefits I have no doubt this will be an outstanding product.
This is just from what im seeing and know so far. Now pennzoil ultra platinum does extremely well for an off the shelf product as well. I do have to give to props to them. I just dont like how their voas show to the lower viscosity grade of their target range.
Lake also said its comparable to off the shelf synthetics

The aspect does not matter, just go with what Jw95 has said, he knows what he is talking about when it comes to motor oil.
I appreciate the compliment, but I don't know everything. Still have a good bit to learn however I can make educated decisions from what I know about the product and have seen and know about others.

Here is a member that posted 2 runs of Amsoil Syn blend. TBN is close to toast with 4-5k runs. How can this be better than Mobil 1? Not even Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy would have such low TBN with low miles. I think Amsoil Syn blend is a good oil for 3-5k mile runs but poor TBN isn’t attractive.

I posted that UOA and another one for the AMSOIL synthetic blend here too.

On the second one, wear metals were trending down, but I don't see he got a TBN.
