Amsoil Synthetic Blend Engine Oils

From this statement? “So yeah, I actually probably have a better handle on the syn blend market than amsoil does. Because they’re my customers.”

I was referring to the market of people/companies that buy Synthetic blends. Not amsoil being my customer. (Although it’s entirely possible about 10 years ago they were.)
OH ok. Understood. The imprecision of a pronoun led me astray, I apologize (SORRY) and I should have known better by the final plural.

I dunno if Amsoil ever bought anything from you. Unknown.

I do stand by my other comments. An employee owned company, should definitely be "WE" instead of I, I, I in many of your statement...............just saying.

As for the underlying market, Amsoil responds to customer requests. They always have. SOMEBODY must have asked. It definitely is NOT my world, that's for sure. My shops (mostly hi perf) are not looking for syn blends. YET these blends, are primarily Group III, so we will see.

We are not employee owned. “We” the company are privately owned. I say “I” because I’m the one making these decisions.

I don't understand why Foxtrot boasts or gloats - then hides his company or corporation name.
If I sold anything to Amsoil and bragged it here, I would either 'put-up' or 'shut-up', right from his beginning comments inside this thread.

You went too far with this Foxtrot. Now you need to own-up.

Just for the record, case PC price is $5.79/qt.
Wow! That’s 33% more than I paid for 0W40 M1 and about 15% higher than Delvac 0W40.
Like Foxtrot said, good luck.
However, if Amsoil is buying 100,000 litre rail car loads for $100,000 from the likes of Petro-Can, which is only 800 miles from Superior, WI, the profit margin will make up the difference.
I’m sure if that’s the case, Warren is laughing all the way to the bank.

We co-owned a base oil refinery years back. It’s a possibility we did sell them something then. We’ve since sold our shares in that company.

Own up to what? This is the internet. Plenty of people here can vouch for me if they want to.

Yes we all have two sides to our mouths...... but!.....
......Now you are changing your tune. Now it's just a possibility of this happening in the past. Just not sure anymore Foxrtrot?

I'm outa' this thread (real early) and I suggest Pablo just grin and bow-out also.

Note. I never said that Amsoil was a customer of mine. Pablo mis quoted me. I said the customer base, that buys Synthetic blends, is my customer. Not amsoil. Please look above, Pablo and I discussed that.

I guess there’s not a ton of MBAs on this board. You really think Amsoil, or any company, would bother to develop and market a product without some at least some assurance that there was a market demand for it?
Companies conduct market research that backfires all the time, including within the PCEO market. Remember Valvoline NextGen? How about Mobil 1 Annual Protection? Both of which received massive marketing pushes and were moved to the clearance racks shortly after release. Surely ExxonMobil had done their homework, right? Same with Rotella Gas Truck.

Forecasting is a tricky business.

This another one that I referenced earlier. Mind you, “we” (I?) am the largest Kendall distributor in North America.

… and I’ve never seen it. I was at the launch “party” down in Florida. But I’ve never actually seen it anywhere. And as far as I know they discontinued most? Of the SKUs already. It’s a premium “partial” synthetic. Kendall of course has their GT1 High Performance product line up, as their normal syn blend. Then the max line up… etc.

PC engine oil business is channeled and not so close to driven by the average auto driver choosing a brand as many of us think.

We just enjoy brand wars like a sport here, but 75-85+ percent of drivers now in the USA cannot tell you what brand of motor oil they are currently abusing.
What do you mean "now"? It hasn't ever been different than that in any of our lifetimes. Most people can't name three brands of motor oil I bet off the top of their head.

Who wants to run the 0W-20 or 5W-20 oil, do a couple UOA's?

A car with no known mechanical issues, engine calls for 5W-20 or lower 100°C viscosity.

PM Me. I will supply the oil and two UOA's via reimbursement. You order it via PC with me, I reimburse. It will be public, so follow through is required.
Pablo - if you’re buying - it’s gonna take 10 runs for good data 😉
