Amsoil Series 2000 0w-30 ATM

I have read many articles on some Amsoil products thicken over a short period of time ie (5w30) moving closer towards a 40 grade. Is this a problem that has also been encountered with the above mentioned variant?
 
One test from Blackstone, showed 56.4 SUS Viscosity @ 210F (normal range is 59-72) in my F-150 with 7796 miles on the oil, 66560 miles on the engine. This was with the 2K 0w30 ATM. This would indicate a high 20 weight viscosity. I did add 16 oz. of Synergyn oil treatment, which probably skewed the results.
 
Oxidative thickenning is an Amsoil characteristic across the board. 90% of the time it doesn't seem to have an impact on wear or TBN retention, so it's not that big of a deal. But fuel mileage and cold starts could be effected by it. For what your paying for Amsoil, they should improve this IMO.

I have run the Amsoil 0w30 (TSO) for two long OCI's,
each for 13,500 miles and the oil remained a
30 weight, no filter changes and added 1 quart during the OCI.
The 5w30 (ASL) oil remained a
30 weight in 11,500 miles, I did change the filter and added oil, whether an oil thickens
will depend on the vehicle and how the car is driven, as for cold starts being a problem
I think the oil would have to be tested at VIS @40°C cSt and see if the oil has changed, I have run 30W oil
until it moved into the 40 weight territory and saw no difference in fuel mileage.
 
I'm confused by your post. ATM (product code) is 10w30 and has nothing to to with with TSO (product code) which is 0W-30. Different chemistries.

What "articles" have you read on these oils thickening? I don't think I've see any articles printed on this.

Some, but not ALL Amsoil oils have a tendency to thicken with extended use. As Buster says, this usually, almost never has an effect on wear metals. The thickening does increase more in engines that may have some small, but underlying engine issue. I have run MANY Amsoil oils of all types and viscosities over the last 5+ years and have not had them thicken, on the contrary, I usually see a bit of a thinning effect in my turbo, so I am still baffled as to the cause as to why it happens in engines that are in great running order.
