It's easy to understand. A guys posts a video that's really a "Infomercial" about Amsoil. Other guys who watched it and don't care for the product, rag on it. Other guys who like the stuff .defend it. A guy on here's sells it, and defends it. Does it work?, yes. Is it for everyone?, nope. People say what they like about it, and other state what they don't like about it. The guy that posted it must be a new distributor, who feels the need to enlighten everyone on here about about this wonderful new "discovery in lubrication". I hope I didn't leave anything out.,,,
They make money from selling that brand as part of a MLM distribution model. So any negative might impact their income. Similar to bad-mouthing your neighbor's LuLaRoe leggings.

I get humor and ribbing too and do it myself. If I am way off and out of bounds... banish me. I can be reactive and I overreact at times too. I did it when I joined. I have much too much free time (almost total invalid / disbaled 100%) so I joined here and enjoy & hang on all of your posts.... well until the mud slinging.... PEACE all. Its Holiday Season.

Simmer on down buddy i have absolutely zero hate towards amsoil good lord. All i did was agree with pablo and say that amsoil users are their best advertising as with many other companiesAre NOT the users of every other product on earth their best advertising? Why do you care? Really? I actually don't. I just can't fathom the strange seething hate some people have if someone does not go and buy everything from walmart? Not attacking you. Its everyone with this strange Amsoil hatred? What on earth is that? What did Amsoil do? Kill someone's first born. ENOUGH. I mean enough for me. I have no desire to discuss Amsoill with anyone. (also sure no one wants to discuss anything with an old grump like me anyway)

None of my squacking is aimed at any one person. Maybe I am the only one who sees some type of anger or dislike for people who do not buy their oil at walmart. LOL Well I buy some of mine there too. 
Sorry my early morning rant got attacthed to your true comment.I have a low tolerance for people attacking others. I got many a black eye or split lip taking up for people in younger days. I did win sometimes. Lots of times I should have stayed out. Always been that way. Old habits are hard to break.

What is it about Amsoil's selling model that people hate so much? Is it because Wm doesn't stock it on the shelves? Lots of high end oils aren't available at Wm. Redline and Synerlec Royal Purple come to mind.
Aggressive marketing. They tend to make people feel “stupid” if they have not made a switch to Amsoil yet. And if you ever question amsoil, you will get flamed. Psychologically it will turn some people away, but works for others.
Redline does not sell oil in WM, but you will not see the same style of marketing from Redline, or any other oil company. Amsoil maybe be a very good oil, but certainly has a distinct marketing style that maybe a turn off for some people.

I'm an average consumer and I appreciate Amsoil as a quality product. For my usage, I do not need their premium product but I am glad it is there as a choice. I do like to use their synthetic gear oil in many applications. No love for their motor oil but respect, and certainly no negative.

I don't see their marketing as being aggressive at all. They market and advertise their products to sell and make profit, just like everyone else. Every oil company touts their products as being superior. As consumers we make the choice as where to spend our sweet moola

I think Harry is their best advertising - but I don’t plan to rig up and PM my vehicles that way so “spec” oil works
