AMSOIL Price Reduction Effective March 1
Due to recent price relief from its suppliers, AMSOIL is implementing a price decrease effective March 1. The price decrease will mainly affect lubricants. The price of some will go down between 15 cents and 30 cents per quart, representing a 60 cent to $1.20 decrease per gallon, while others will be impacted less. Adjustments will also be made in the price differential between package sizes in order to implement more consistency. See the February Action News for more details.

Yay!!!! Thanks for posting!

Now lets see if all the others follow suit

I think it has more to do with the [censored] economy than the price of oil. It looks very good but I think their sales are suffering big time.

i think the big oil companies are suffering slow sales also for the first time ever i saw dust on oil at wal mart it was on the high mileage pennzoil.. Bottom line prices went up on oil at wal mart people extend their oil changes and dont buy extra just to have.. who suffers?? The oil companies and wal mart too.. I always used pennzoil but since the prices went up at wal mart i use the conoco phillips we use in our customers cars that come in the big drums and the uoa's look great on the conoco oil

Actually Amsoil said in the late summer that they would lower the prices if suppliers lower their prices. They kept their word.

Sales have slowed, but "suffering big time"? Not so much.

Nice to see a company follow through! Makes me want to support them. Well, once I get some money that isn't allocated to other stuff...

Its a start but they need to do more for sure. i used to buy
some Amsoil products here and there but it just got to crazy
i bought interceptor back in the day when i got for $28 a gal now
it's $35+,and no i'm not going to pay a company $$ to get there
product cheaper. so i stopped and when back to OEM 2-stroke.

Keep bringing that price down so that Amsoil ATF is priced similarly to Dexron VI, and maybe I'll buy some.

Maybe someone who knows Amsoil prices can compare the prices, onion.

Dexron VI from big brand names seems to go for nearly $7 a quart these days.
(When I bought some early last summer I got ST for only $3 a quart, it went up soon after.)

12 quarts of Amsoil ATF minus PC discount, plus PC fee and shipping cost, compared to 12 quarts of major brand name Dexron VI would be interesting to see.

For the record, I've never purchased Amsoil products before.

It is nice to see a company keep their word.

A case of Amsoil ATF with the PC discount is $111 shipped to me.

A case of GM approved Dexron-VI, sold under the "Wolf's Head" brand is $47.23.

No comparison.

Wolf's head is often viewed as a far lower-tier brand.

How about comparing to something a bit more mainstream, like pennzoil or castrol DVI ATF?

All GM Dexron-VI approved fluids are virtually identical.

I'm told by trusted sources that Dexron VI is 'better' than Amsoil in several quantifiable ways... including but not limited to sheer stability and resistance to oxidation. Plus, DexVI is a known quantity- I can expect a certain well-defined level of performance from any oil meeting the DexVI spec... I have only Amsoil's word to back up their ATF.

Dexron VI can be purchased off the shelf at Walmart for around $3.50 per quart.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Amsoil ATF is around $9 per quart, and you have to order it. You can bring the price down slightly if you PAY for a discount.

Not saying that there's anything WRONG with Amsoil... I'm sure it's a pefectly good 'universal' ATF. But DexVI is a MUCH better deal for the money.

You might want to tell those so called "trusted sources" they are incorrect. Seems to me you are just making allegations without proof again. Please don't post this hearsay without proof. Or if you do make such allegations without proof, please start your own thread with an appropriate title. Thanks.
