To the Amsoil knowledgable, I am currently using an Amsoil SDF-15 filter on my 2003 4.7 liter Durango. What is the next largest size that I could use? I had one earlier that I liked but don't remember the number. It was larger than the SDF-15 by quite a bit. Thanks in advance.

A Baldwin Filter BT251 is alarger filter. Baldwin make the Amsoil filters.
BT251 Descriptions : Microlite Full-Flow Lube Spin-on Contains : Anti-Drainback Valve
8 PSI By-Pass Valve Fits : Ford, Oliver Tractors Replaces : Ford D2NN-6714-C
Thread : 3/4-16 O.D. : 3 11/16 (93.7)
Length : 7 1/8 (181.0)
I.Gskt : G381-A
Related to : B2 (Short Version)
I hope this information helps. If you seeking higher quality filtration use the B2HPG - it filters to 5 microns.

I ran the SDF15, now running the EAO15, on my 4.7 Grand Cherokee. I thought that was the oversized Amsoil filter for the 4.7. If there is an option for an even larger oversized filter, I would also like to know what it is.

BTC: it looks like magaoidh2 has the correct Baldwin filter. I need to know what the coresponding number is on the Amsoil filters. SDF-15 is the oversize filter for the 4.7. I was using a larger one awhile ago. I was doing alot of highway travel and I loved that filter. Lot's of hwy miles and the oil stayed clean for 10,000 miles. Excellent filtering!

MAG: that is the right size. I remember the 7 1/8 length. If you know could you post the Amsoil equivalent? Or anyone else?

fyi

Looks like the SDF26 is but with a new mfg. for the EaO, hard to say if they are same dimensions as in this 2004 Chart.

Mike My Man, That is it! Just what I am looking for. It is the SDF-26. Thanks for the info and where did you get the chart? Cool info!

Mike, wow thanks for posting that chart and source. I was looking for exactly that info for a long time and painstakingly tried to construct it myself by doing cross references at the Wix site.

A related question: how critical is the by-pass valve opening diff pressure? For example, my filter should be SDF20 with bypass opening dp of 18-20 psi but I run the somewhat longer SDF36 with bypass opening of 7-9 psi. I guess it doesn't matter too much as long as the bypass doesn't open too often which I don't think it does based on my oil pressure gauge and knowing the oil pump relief valve pressure.

The Amsoil that = the Baldwin is a SDF26. I would highly recommend that you use the Baldwin BT251.
As for the 4.7 Grand Cherokee, the correct application call for a B34, of which the B2 is the longer version. I would recommend using the B2HPG, which is a cramic filter, much better filtration.
