for my wife's jeep KJ with 5 speed NV3550, would amsoil MTF or royal purple syncromax be the better choice?

Thanks

Use Amsoil MTF or Redline MTL. RoyalPurple is best for trannies spec'ing an ATF. I believe that the NV3550 requires Synchromesh fluid which is thicker then ATF.

I'd like to stay with amsoil or RP for a few reasons...
1- Fellow Jeepers have had the best luck with these two in their nv3550s
2- they meet Chrysler's MS-2994, which I can't find if the Redline does

Nothing against redline, just want to go synthetic while meeting MS-2994.

and yes, the 3550 needs a synchromesh fluid

As stated the RP Synchromax at 7.7 cSt @100°C is too thin for that NV transmission.

Amsoil MTF at 9.6cSt @100°C is a better fit, plus I think the MTF will shift smoother, last longer and provide better protection.
