Now I like Amsoil. I've got likely 100 quarts of the stuff in various grades but I can honestly say not one oil reduced my operating temps.
I don't particularly like being called a liar. especially by some jack [censored] that doesn't know me. It was my actual experience documented by me on two consecutive 90+ degree days, 220 mile ride exactly the same route both days. Harley Syn3 vs AMSOIL MCV. This is what made me believe that AMSOIL might be something other than the snake oil I thought it was.
I Can't help it if you don't like facts but don't spout off about [censored] you don't know![/quote]
Right. I don't know. Not like I tried every oil from M1 15w-50,M1v-twin 20w-50,motul 15w-50 and 10w-60,Amsoil 20w-50 and straight 60,RP 20w-50 automotive oil and PYB 20w-50.
I have a dipstick with the oil temp displaying with a simple look down.
Of all of these oils the operating temp difference was none. Ambient air temps affected it more than different oils did, which was also nothing.
So bud,I suggest losing your attitude and prove your position, otherwise it carries as much weight as any other post from an anonymous member in an Nernst forum.
And save the Amsoil tests. Lets try a 3rd party with actual data, since we here at bitog love real data.
Don't get me wrong. I'm an Amsoil fan however in my experience in testing these different oils in my Harley I found NO difference in operating temps.
We all know going thinner will dissipate heat faster however oils of the same grade will dissipate heat at the same rate, within a few degrees.
So if you can post some real data from someone who isn't selling something I'd be happy to read it.
