All the cars in my stable bought new, the LS400 had both syn and dino with double OCI on syn oil (6-7k/6mo with dino, 12-15k/12mo with syn), E430 had only syn with 12-13k/12mo OCI, S2000 had both conventional and synthetic and double OCI on syn oil. None had anything more expensive than M1 or PP or Synpower that I bought on sale for around $2/qt. The LS400 has more than 260k miles without any engine problem or transmission problem related to oil/ATF.
Now, if I track my S2000 then I may consider Amsoil or Redline. Since I don't track/race any of my cars, boutique oils are of no use for my driving needs. I do drive fast whenever I have a chance, such as 100+ MPH when I go to Vegas, but go with the flow on local highways.
