At the moment, there is Amsoil 0w30 (SSO?) oil in the car. 80k miles, Elantra '05. I have the feeling the engine is knocking when cold, like 20F.
So essentially, the question is "Can Amsoil Flush be added to Amsoil 0w30 oil, or would the chemistry get messed up during that 20 minutes of flushing?"
The previous oil, before Amsoil was Castrol Synthetic 5w30 (USA).. and it thinned up for some reason in just 3 months / 2k miles.

I also changed spark plugs at that time (switching to amsoil) and added a bit too much of the gray paste - anti-seize around the spark plugs..
I have some quaker synthetic 5w30 laying around, i could probably waste it on this flush, or use it with Auto-RX, which for sure needs dyno or type 3 synthetic oil..
Current oil, again, is amsoil 0w30, at <1k miles, about a 1 month. But I am afraid there's some sludge coming off, so it may be better to clean up now rather than after 6 months.. What do you think?
