I was cutting open a few filters the other night. I noticed something that struck me as odd. I cut open a bosch with 2500 miles. From my wifes 99 chevy tracker on an autorx clean. A motorcraft fl1a from my 96 ram 318 on an autorx clean 1500 miles. A amsoil sdf-15 from my truck it had 9000 miles. A amsoil smf103 from my 99 kawasaki vulcan 800 with 4000 miles. What was odd was when I cut the elements out and held them against a light. both amsoil filters let no light through. All the others let light through with only blotches of crud in them. I'm wondering is it because they are more efficant and remove finer and more dirt? Has anyone else noticed this? Or am I just nuts?

At $10+ a pop,they'd better be.
I use Amsoil oil filters.

Amsoil has a different media than the filters you described....I think.
