It is for this lack of 'comfort level' that I have come full circle from being a 'Wix since I was born, K&N's are tough and M1 media is interesting' kind of guy to an 'OEM Oil filter please' kind of guy.

As discussed in other threads, I believe the oil filter has less work to do in today's engines.

EaO47 Temporarily Discontinued
AMSOIL is currently developing the next generation of the EaO47 Oil Filter to accommodate the popular Suzuki/GM 3.6L V6 engines found in several 2007 and 2008 GM and Suzuki vehicles, and introduction is scheduled for spring, 2009. Inventory of the current EaO47 Filter has been depleted and will not be replenished before the next-generation EaO47 is launched. In the interim, AMSOIL recommends the WIX 57060 for all applications.

I hear ya, but when Honda decided to charge $11 for a cheapo honeywell, with shallow threads, and half the weight of it's competitors I just couldn't do it.

Therefore, I make my oil filter decisions on a case by case basis.

For my subie, yeah, I run oem (black toyo roki) because it's a quality filter and it's only $7. Will I run an EaO when the warranty is up? Most likely, along with extended drains.
