^^^Pabs; does this mean that Donaldson is the actual manufacturer of the EaA filters under sub-contract to your company??

No. Does not seem like a logical conclusion. I believe Wix currently makes most EaA's, but I could be wrong.

Name is Pablo or Paul, and it's not really my company, as I am not an employee but an independent Direct Jobber. Thanks.

Pablo:

From the pictures I've posted, it appears that Champion Labs makes at least some of them. Mine are definitely Champ-style filters.

I have bought a Champ labs filter that came the same way, lose plastic with the excess shoved into the thread.

at least they are still covered. No other filter brand I can think of does that. I wonder if this is one less step to save cost by not using the previous shrink method, or does Champion Labs not have the ability.

I'm sorry, NO insult or disrespect meant or implied WHATSOEVER. (I thought I had seen others on here use that shortened nickname.)
And yes, I meant to say "the company you represent".

Don't sweat it man. People do write it from time to time. Seems kinda informal and a little happy.

According to information on Royal Purple's & Amsoil's websites, the Royal Purple filter has a 25 micron media, and Amsoil has a 20 micron media.

These definitely look better than most, and paper media seems better suited for 3K OCI's.

What is the forum consensus on these filters?

Isn't the purolator pureone a 20 micron filter?(according to their website) and much cheaper...while I understand wouldn't be as good as the two mentioned above for extended oci

My car has an over sized oil sump of 6qts for a V6, and the cars OLM indicates a 10K OCI. I went with Royal Purple's 20-500 filter because the idea of paper media filters & a 7500 mile OCI (Red Line 5w20) didn't sound good. I purchased two 20-500 Royal Purple (RP) filters and have one on my car now. Before installing, a little bit of oxidation was noticeable on the bypass plate that was cleaned up.

My opinion based on my internet research is, both are better options than most for OCI's > 5K miles. My next buy I'll likely try out the Amsoil filter, because:

1. The bypass plate is plated
2. The cost is similar to RP
3. If the media is 20 microns to RP's 25, it's pretty much a no brainer.

People keep talking about "media is 20 microns" or "media is 25" microns" ... but it means nothing unless some kind of efficiency or beta ratio number is associated with those statements.

You could have media that is "20 microns", but if it's only 80% efficient at 20 microns then it's not very good media.

According to Royal Purple's website its 99% efficient at 25 microns, & Amsoil EAO "Filters provide a filtering efficiency in accordance with industry standard ISO 4548-12 of 98.7 percent at 20 microns".

Consensus? Use either.

I agree,100%

But,not on this website,it's not that easy! You'll still have someone sit down, figure out with a pen or pencil, try to figure out what is the abosolute best because of X=meaning better protection/filtration!
