Amsoil claims M1 is group IV and GC is Grp III

The questionable practices have been going on for many years right out in public. There is no way Amsoil management doesn't know about it and give tacit approval by not correcting the problem. The black eye has been earned.

I just spent a little time going through his site....well I'm not the controller of these things, but I would say he crosses the line. Not just his lack of knowledge, but all his "personal" links under an Amsoil banner.......it's beyond tacky....on his "Non-Auto Links Page" page with huge Amsoil banners detailing all his saved kinky links. This is not acceptable.

The T-1 Training Course ensures certified Dealers know the basics of running an AMSOIL business. Now how they run their business is up to them but it only takes 1 bad apple to make it tough for all the good ones that are out here. I found this site BITGO when I was doing research into what oil I was going to use in my new Sonata. I had used Syntec for over 400,000miles in my 2 previous cars but I wanted a true Group IV oil since I run 7,500 miles for my normal OCI's. I was almost set to switch to M1 but in talking to Pablo here and looking at Amsoil's information online I made the jump to Amsoil and have been happy so far and I will get a sample tested at my normal 7,500 OCI and see if I push it to 10,000 or better.

So if canola is fed with synthetic fertilizers, it too is petroleum-based oil?

PAO is a polymer of condensed gases from the crude oil refining process, so in chemical jaqrgon it is a "synthesized" fluid, not just a super-refined crude oil.

look on the M1 bottles some are API certified and some are not.
the ones not certified have trace amounts of PAO in the blend.
the others, who knows? what does "Fully Synthetic oil" mean anymore.

How would you know the content of the oils? which Mobil1 grades are not API certified?

I was agreeing with the second statement regarding the overall marketing that seems to seed the internet with AMSOIL adverts (though not as much as it used too). But I do rec`all a time when one simply Googled "oil," and dozens of sites would be extolling the virtues of AMSOIL would pop up (which I agree is a great product), but it was a tremendous turn off as they were seemingly thinly veiled infomercials posing as unbiased "research"..

Not the quote from the dealer's site. But obviously, guys like this are part of the problem. I haven't seen the site as the link is denied me, but it seems that Amsoil might want to tighten the reigns on all claims and only allow product selection and POCs numbers for the local dealer; and save all info and claims for corporate with a link to the main AMSOIL site (which I enjoy actually)..

Right, my point is that PAO is not some super weird chemical made in the lab its a petrochemical product.
