Amsoil ASL 5W30,6256 miles,2005 Silverado 5.3

This run is 50% short trips and 10-15 minute warm up during winter months. Air filter was replaced with EAA at 26,220 miles.
Oil filter is a EAO32. UOA was done by OAI. I use a 50/50 of FP Plus and Bio-Plus injector cleaner at every fill up.




Miles on oil: 2380/1503
Time on oil: 1 year
Oil: Amsoil Castrol/ASL 5W30/ASL 5W30
Make up oil: 16 oz.

I am struggling to keep silicon down, I cleaned air filter at last OCI. I have flushed since coolant leak and found wire loom pinched in air box. I did nothing with air filter this OCI. High copper, iron a little high and fuel dilution of 1.4%, it's always something. Sometimes I wonder about not doing UOA's but the not knowing kills me. I am going to sample before winter and see what happens.

Any comments or suggestions?

Interresting results I will post mine here too to make a comparison.
My unit is very similar 2007 Avalanche 5.3 with about 28,000 now and only 2 oil changes,First drain at 40 miles, used Amsoil ASL also and used, OAI for results>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Data flagged for observation only; Copper is at a MINOR LEVEL; Bushing/thrust metal and/or most of the copper may be coming from lube cooler (as applicable); Please provide unit model number so we may compare data to the proper standards for this unit; Filter change acknowledged;

Ignorance is bliss. I agree with you. Skip the UOA and then 200K later, you can wonder why you ever cared anyways!

Wow - GREAT TBN retention! 1 year, 6.2K on this engine and 9.8.

The engine and conditions are oil beaters.
