This is a sample from my 2016 Dodge Charger with 76,316 total miles and 5,116 miles on HPL 5w-20 HDEO CK-4, which has been in the crankcase for 10 months. A baseline sample was taken at 200 miles on January 10, 2024 and the 5,116 mile sample was pulled September 22, 2024. The TBN is at 7 and the normalized oxidation being at 7 makes this run pretty boring. The car continues to get short tripped, but you can't tell from the wear metals. I will pull another sample in a year or 15k miles, whichever comes first.

The oil cooler is copper, so it always seems to appear high. Mine drastically dropped off after a few oil changes.
This sample of 5w-20 has more copper in 5k as the 5w-30 had in 11k. Copper doubling here while yours dropped off.
Same brand but different formulation? Interested in seeing more results though & other PPM are reasonable.
I will pull another sample in a year or 15k miles, whichever comes first.
At this rate you might very well reach close to 15k or slightly over. :)

I simply stated the fact that the 3.6L Pentastar oil cooler is copper, and mine started high and dropped off. At 10K on the engine copper was 113 ppm, at 15K 87 ppm, and by 25K it was down to 32 ppm. OCI was 5K across the board. High copper in the 3.6L is pretty common, I have no idea why the OPs went up, but keep in mind we're talking ppm here not parts per thousand. I'm sure one of our resident experts will weigh in with their assumption, I wouldn't be concerned.
