The topic says it all! I'm looking for a 5w30 Amsoil Full Synthetic. its says on their website that it meets gm 4718m specs.

I've been using mobil 1 since the beginning of the car and now at 97k miles on it, it uses approx 1 qt every 5-6k miles only if I do a trip of approx 4 hours to 6 hours of non-stop driving. I wanna also have better UOA results. I'm only at 60% on my OLM but at 50% I want to switch and try amsoil. Usually, I do between 9-12k miles per OCI refering to the OLM.

Where can I get that kind of oil around montreal?

Tks!

thanks guys! I went to a canadian tire and the 5w30 is out of stock for who knows when! Nobody could give me an answer.

Also its 13.99$ CAN + tax each quart! is it expensive or its the price to pay for a quart? I'm asking because I'll need 7 of them for an oil change!

Way too expensive... You can have it shipped cheaper from Amsoil.com like I do. It's even cheaper if you buy a prefered customer membership. Heck I will ship it to you using my membership if you want...

^^^ That is the best way to do it.

Follow the directions at the link. Add everything to your cart and once you enter your Canadian info at the checkout the prices will convert to CAD.

smokescreen, that was my other question. it meets the spec yes, but for a 5L at wal-mart for 22$ I mean, its cheap (not the oil, the price) so is it really synthetic? I mean, I dont know Pennzoil Platinum. If it meets the gm spec that I need, should I still rely on the OLM on the car? I dunno..

I never thouht hoosing an oil brand would be so difficult LOL

Pennzoil Platnium seems to be a really great oil but it is made up of GRP III oils and not GRP IV like Amsoil. I think they are both equally great oils. But your UOA will tell you which one is better for your application. I like Amsoil and use them, but I'm currently using Pennzoil because I'm doing an ARX treatment and I'm impressed by how quiet the engine is on PP. I bought some more today so that I can do a UOA on PP after my ARX rinse cycle is complete.
