I was at CT and noticed Amsoil oil on the shelf, I knew they carry Amsoil but never paid attention to it. So I went to the Amsoil web site and could not find the exact oil that CT carries.

The CT bottle is gold in color and says that it is 100% Synthetic high performance oil, so which oil line is it. My guess it's probably AMSOIL 100% Synthetic 5w30 Motor Oil or the XL line.

Also, why have a different bottle and label for CT, or are the same bottles are used in other retail stores?

If the picture in the first post is what they have, it is old inventory with the SL label. I would question how long they have had this product.

Good catch, Johnny. My guess would be that's an old picture and they just never updated the site.

The one near my location of work, carries the 5w30 and 5W-20 at about $13.99 a bottle. It costs more than PC discount, but if you need a "quick" fix, I suppose that will do the job.

It is nice of CT to start stocking stuff like RL, RP and Amsoil though ;P.

That looks like ASL.

The XL line has XL fairly visible on the label, and the signature series is a black bottle from what I remmeber.

Its basically theyre 25,000 KM oil

My 3 CTC's and PartSource around me carry ASL 5w30 that looks like this:

If it looks anything different then it is probably old stock like Johnny said.

I guess I got confused with the gold bottle as I was also checking CT Motomaster Formula Synthetis for prices, which incidently is in a gold jug.

But, I will check my location if they are selling Amsoil's old formula, if they are, then the 13.99 price tag is a big

$13.99 for ASL is still a

as you can get it cheaper on amsoil.com and have it shipped to you.

$34.40 / Gallon (Non PC Price) + $12 Flat shipping: $46.40 / 4 Quarts = $11.60 / Quart

$8.75 / Quart (Non PC Price) + $12 Flat shipping
$11.75 / Quart Shipping included (4 Quart Example)

Or you could save shipping and pick it up at the warehouse in Mississauga. (They call it Toronto on the website)

Heck you could Get SSO which is their best oil for cheaper.
It is only $10.50 / quart or $41.40 / Gallon.

Plus right now they are offering 8% reduction in price on those prices because of the US/Canadian dollar difference so you would only pay the GST on these prices.

You could get a P.C. membership and order a whole stash of the product to save on cost of the product, get the 8% price reduction while still there and save on shipping because it's flat shipping on your orders.

Thanks for setting out the prices on this - I've always been curious if CT's shelf price is actually more than a non-PC price shipped......

I don't think they are because the people that generally shop at CTC are out for deals and savings not premium oils. Also the stuff on the shelves has all kinds of dust on them.
