I think you're still missing the point. A few points of wear difference here or there isn't statistically relevant and won't tell you which oil is better. Now if TBN totally depleted or oxidation is up more than 17 points from VOA, then yeah one of the oils is shot and needs to be changed.

I'm just trying to say that a used oil analysis isn't the tool that most people think it is. Comparing oils is not one of the applications of that tool.
 
I've only used Mobil 1 Extended Performance for decades
Great oil. Other than my recent run of 4-5 intervals of Valvoline Restore and Protect, I've NEVER waivered to try another oil till now. It's my turn to try another flavor, see how it feels and performs.
Most likely will go back to Mobil 1 Extended Performance but I want to try it out, share my experience.

If you get several reports and can establish a baseline trend, it’ll tell you if that oil is suitable for further use or not.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance is one of the best OTS oil, but I do consider Amsoil a step up in terms of ingredients (not cost cutting) and the overall blend in the context of extended OCIs, but some vehicles do just fine on Mobil 1 Extended Performance as well.

It could simply come down to preference, though Amsoil Signature Series will obviously have more headroom for continuous extended intervals. That’s why it’s on a short list for me when it comes to the right oil for the job when doing so.

Maybe stupid question but why does a jug of AMSOIL come with 4 quarts instead of 5 quarts? I have to buy an extra bottle to make it 5 quarts . Why are they this way? It's not obvious to me. Thank you,

Personally, I hate the big jugs, 4 or 5 quarts, not for me. I buy Amsoil in the quart, a six pack at a time

I was not aware they sell them in 6 packs. The price per quart between the case of 4 gallon jugs and the case of 12 quart bottles isn't too different actually. Not a big premium to pay for the quart bottles.

No, doesn't bother me at all, just new and curious.
I will be testing two cars that are 4 cylinder basic engines and we will see some results

You ca drop your cost per quart quite a bit by going with the 4 gallon 4 pack or a case of 12. If you’re interested.
 
What are you hoping a $30 used oil analysis will show you that would convince you either one is the superior oil?

You've been here 13 years. I think you know that by now.
TBN mainly, not any meaningful wear comparison.
But then you've been here nearly fifteen years and I think you know that by now.
 
Perfect for my 24 f250 7.3, 8 quarts, and my 02 nissan xterra 3.3, 4 quarts. In the bronco (6 quarts) either way to be correct I'll be buying some quart bottles so its negligible

When I first started driving in 1986 most motor oil in Canada was sold either in 1L bottles or 4L jugs. Then for a while it was 4.4L jugs. It was only maybe 15 years ago when they started being sold here in 5 quart jugs. A few are currently sold in 5L jugs but 5 quart is more common. So we always just made do with whatever we could get. There’s never going to be a universal size that’s perfect for everyone. Some will still need to buy a second jug.
I believe if you check, the 5 liter jugs would have been packaged in Canada.

One USA gallon actually makes more sense than 5 quart jugs. My vehicles take 6 quarts and 12 quarts, so 1.5 gallons and 3 gallons. Gallons actually work better for me, the five quart jugs are the odd ball amounts in my opinion.

Even ordering a case of 12 quarts drops the prices pretty significantly. It's pretty close the large jugs. If you're going to use the oil anyway, might as well save a few bucks.
