Found a bottle of Amsoil 2-cycle. Never opened. I'm guessing around 25 years old. Shook it well and mixed with a gallon of premium gas. Just sitting in a box in the garage. Would you run it? Too old?

Edit: Tried to upload an image but it wouldn't take. It's the 100:1 Pre-Mix.

I would not use it on anything important unless you get blessing from Amsoil directly. Oils do degrade and oxidize with time and I can't imagine that your oil is unaffected. If it was 5 years, it might be still okay?

All that aside, I'm sure the formula is much improved today than it was 25 years ago.

Have you or anyone ever used the TruFuel 50:1 Pre-mix?
Comes in the quart container and I wouldn't use that much in a year.
The gallon I mixed up will sit for years before I use it up.
Stihl weed eater and very occasionally a Stihl MS250.

Ya I have. I'm on 10 acres and the 2 around my house get wacked regularly. I can easily burn through a quart of fuel in a day.

I have found the VP fuel to run much better than the tru-fuel brand.

In reality I prefer to mix my own but I can't get fuel without ethanol added here.

If I had a cheap piece of garbage ope that wasn't worth the cost of the oil I'd use it.

Yes we dropped TruFuel due to several issues and now use Stihl Motomix exclusively for two-stroke and premix applications.

May we see a picture of fron and back label of that oil?
I may give it a try at 40:1 or 50:1 (the least). But not at 100:1 for sure.

I see the picture. That's not 25 years old. Maybe 15 or less. Shake well and mix well. Send it!

My bad! You're right.
I got my memory mixed up with some gear oil I purchased 20+ years ago.
I just got off an online chat with a Amsoil rep and they stated it to be 14 years old.
Of course they told me not to use it.
