Decided to send a sample in early as I had work done on the ATV to try and fix that fuel leak, plus after sitting for a week it's really hard to get started. Mechanic had to adjust valves (front cylinder was really tight) and had carbs cleaned/rebuilt. Also while it was in upgraded to after market exhaust and CDI. Even after the valve adjustment, still having a problem with hard starting. Fuel pump was also replaced, so starting to run out of ideas/options. Letting it sit only a day or two and it fires right up, but leave it for 7 days and it will have to crank for 15-20 seconds before firing.

Blackstone Comments:
Changing the oil reset the metals, and you can see that their levels are following the pattern set by the universal averages we have for this type V-twin (~25hrs in use). Nothing here is out of line, so it's fine to leave this oil in place another ~25 hours. The fuel we found last time has reduced down to just a trace, and that won't hurt anything, and the lack of fuel allowed the oil to maintain the correct viscosity for 0W/40 grade oil. No coolant or water ws found, and air & oil filtration look good. Good report!

If you put a multimeter on the + and - leads, you'll probably find that the fuel pump only pumps when cranking & running. At least, both my Suzuki VZ800 and my Chevy Luv (Isuzu) were wired that way. very very very annoying.

Wire in a double pole, double throw switch so you can send 12v to the fuel pump for a few seconds before hitting the starter button.

Oh... a "momentary switch" is best..... if you ever leave the switch on, you'll find all your gas back in the oil again.

I'll take a look at it. The problem is that it hasn't always done this, so something is quite right with the ATV. Initially when I bought it, things were fine. About a year ago it would start fine after sitting for a week, but 2 weeks would have the same behavior. It's slowly gotten worse to the point that now it will experience the behavior after 7 days...

first off...the stoners dont even have the brains to look at the requirements chart for oil weights.

the lowest susvis for 40wt is 68.2863
yours was 66.0 and a 30wt. it was NOT in the 40wt grade!
did it harm anything? no!
but when the stoners cant even comment correctly on susvis...dont listen to them at all.
flash of 380 is MORE than a trace. more like 0.5% from my uoa's that match that flash value

overly tight valves mean they have sucked up into the valve seats and tulip'd the valves.
toss them and cut the seats and start over. your ever changing valve setting will mean hardstarting from here on out.
you may also have an electrical issue - coil, ground, spark plug, plug cap.....
