Kept it under 7,500 for warranty purposes. Silicon hasn't improved much. K&N air filter has been in place since 2,000 miles on this vehicle.

It looks pretty good. On one hand your aluminum didn't go up, but on the other that Si is a bit border line (7-9ppm is native)

I would try a run with a paper AF and see if the Al and Si and Na go down.

Viscosity is near perfect.

"I would try a run with a paper AF and see if the Al and Si and Na go down."

Why should Na (sodium) be lower? It is already at like 4.

A friend put a factory AC delco filter back in his airbox on his Tahoe and the Si dropped in half after that. I believe the K/N air filters let more dirt through than paper filters after seeing this on several vehicles.

All four tests contained traces of sodium, which tells me it's from the environment. I'm not a K&N fan but I can't draw much of a conclusion based on these numbers

The oil is in fine shape with plenty of life left.....

"Do I detect a disconnect here?"

Initially, I failed to let them know the viscosity and brand so they wrote that comment.

I called them since there was no viscosity range on the report and gave them the oil brand and viscosity. They proceeded to type in the brand and viscosity and re-sent the report to me.
