Not a shred of truth and your attack on the NRA is offensive and untrue as well. I am the NRA. I've been a member since 1980 and now a life member.
I suppose I could have done without the comment about the NRA, but there is truth to it. They do resort to fear mongering. If they didn't, I wouldn't have gotten an unsolicited phone call from them saying "Eric, the Dems are trying to take our guns away" and that it's important I join. They're no different than any other big dollar special interest lobby in that respect. That being said, I do believe they're a necessary evil. Without them and the various state level gun advocate groups, we likely wouldn't be where we are today.
It should also be known that I was an member too, even before I owned any guns. I have let my membership lapse, but do plan to join again, because, like I said, they are necessary and need both financial backing and members to show they have physical backing. However they can wave all the guns, the U.S. flag and constitution in my face all they want, but I'll never be so blind that I can't see them for what they are - A big dollar lobby that will do anything to swell their coffers and their membership.
