I bought a baby Browning in 25 acp. The ammo will not feed most of the time. I also get some stovepipes.
she is new and unfired. Please help. thanks

A lot of FTF issues on many firearms comes down to the feed ramp needing to be polished.

New and unfired could be the issue. Break that thing in. Maybe try a different ammo?

stovepipes
Do stovepipes and feeding issues happen when firing the first round or two? This happened to me in a 1911 with a +1 extra capacity mag. I figured out that my magazine spring was putting too much upward pressure on the slide when the mag was full. I never had any issues after firing the second round.

Yep could be the feed ramp or magazine issues. Stove pipe can often be solved with a more firm grip while firing. What ammo are you using? Sometimes bullets with super wide hollow points don't feed well with some pistols.

Try working the slide a few thousand times while watching tv. More cost effective break-in than firing a few thousand rounds!

You really need the pressure from firing actual rounds to "break it in" right. But doing what you suggest will get you some Popeye forearms 😁.

Brand new, though. You would think a brand new gun would have a decent mainspring.
You have a point, it’s not a Sig. But there are examples of smaller caliber guns running better with AM springs.

Wolff doesn't seem to carry, AM springs for the baby Browning

I searched around and came up empty on AM spring anyway

When was this pistol manufactured? I assume it's been broken down, cleaned and lubed.

This might help.

I tend to load magazines (1) round short of their full capacity to avoid this.

You can't know it won't feed if you are not firing it. The firing cycle is much more vigorous that you can hand cycle it.
Take it to the range and report back. Btw, those best work with fmj ammunition.

I've owned 2 of the older FN's and one Bauer, a US copy. I never had enough success with either to feed or eject to even think of carrying it. The price of 25acp is very high, and not readily avail, making it an expensive caliber to shoot.
Sure hope your new one turns out well for you.
