You must mean like brick and mortar stores.

Cost?
sometimes I prefer to shop in the store … or order from several other places … I told my wife she can start dealing with all the cardboard from her Amazon addiction … she cut back and buys more in town …

I usually have Amazon open on my phone device when I walk through another store including Walmart.

Yeah, it has become a sounding board. I find Walmart to be a bit of light exercise when it’s 95F outside …
(and hunt yellow tag ribeye steaks in the morning 😷)

Walmart. Well, I only use the self-checkout, because I do not like interacting with other humans.

Having Amazon out and open while I walk down the oil aisle... lets me not only see reviews, which I hope are well written sometimes they are not.. but also see just what my loss would be if I subject myself to walking out of there with it in my hand. I still get food from Walmart though.

Then there is the general entertainment of their oil aisle and the things they have in it .

Drop shipping is nothing new and I do it daily myself.
But on Amazon I have a huge address list.
I have a tiny little dog I know in Florida and I sent him 8 pounds of mini bones
for $7.95. If I shipped them the shipping would be nearly $20 for the shipping .

I use Amazon to drop ship gifts everywhere.
I drop ship expensive stuff to my brother in DE. saves me a fortune in tax ( Only 8 miles away)

He’s still mommy and daddy’s little boy 😉
I hate myself for this...........
But Blake is a true bud....
Last year that virus we can't talk about nearly killed me. The whole time I was in the hospital
Blake talked to me and when I got home he did the same. I guess he missed the abuse.
Now I do know that he and his family are guilty for nearly 45% of the animal deaths in VA.
but a man has to eat. I don't like it but hey............... what are you gonna do (y)

If Blake wasn't such a good guy, he wouldn't be gettin' my, "NJ blue". And no, NJ blues aren't to be found on Amazon.

Whats about the dead animals?
Did you ever see their dinner pictures?
Those folks eat BIG!

Just happened now- I don't need this now but you win some and lose some
Stays in the saved for later section.

Well, I was going to post but now that it has been found in evidence...

Stuffed "Saved in the Cart" may have an unusual tendency to jump up in price.

Also, possibly with items you order all the time.. like, if there is an algorithm that sees you buying a lot of something, then all of a sudden the price goes up.

But that may not always be the case.

Exactly
Go to something you buy often. Log out and go back to see that it is cheaper.
When that happens I buy elsewhere if the deal is better.

I did not want to post this at first for fear of looking like some kind of crazy person but this has been my experience as well.

Much like buying air travel.

I add stuff all the time, shift it back and forth to/from saved to watch for better pricing. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose (product sells at lower price and isn’t available anymore. )

I see prices go up and down all the time. I don't see this as a conspiracy by Amazon of raising the price once we put an item in our cart or save it for later presuming we're going to buy it. As of right now....

A reply like this was expected, but.

Can you do a controlled experiment to see if they go up more when they are saved? (And in cart for awhile)

I feel the algorithm does it to frequently purchased things and changes price for you as well.. up more if you saved them but. The truth is out there.
